Nonprofit
and Volunteer Connections is a new organization that seeks
to build a stronger and more engaged community by improving
the effectiveness of nonprofits and connecting volunteers
with opportunities for meaningful community service. NonProfit
and Volunteer Connections will seek to engage a wide range
of individuals and organizations throughout Forsyth County
, that are working for the betterment of our community.
NonProfit
and Volunteer Connections is led by a diverse board of Directors
that includes representatives from several local agencies
and programs including: The Winston-Salem Foundation; The
Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust; United Way; The ECHO
Council; Smart Start; Piedmont Regional Association of Volunteer
Administration; Winston Salem State University; several
community nonprofits that use volunteers; and the private
sector including representatives from Wachovia and the Chamber
of Commerce.
The
Executive Director of NonProfit and Volunteer Connections
is Amy Lytle.
Staff
Amy
Lytle recently became the first Executive Director of Nonprofit
and Volunteer Connections in Winston-Salem. NPVC works to
strengthen the Forsyth County community by building capacity
of its nonprofits and increasing volunteerism. They connect
nonprofits with the resources needed to develop capacity,
and they connect volunteers with nonprofits needing services.
Amy came to NPVC from The Volunteer Center of Greensboro,
where she served as Assistant Director for over eight years
and was the lead staff member in providing training and
technical assistance to the nonprofits with which the Center
worked. She has developed and presented workshops throughout
the state of North Carolina on a variety of volunteer management
and nonprofit governance topics. She serves on the board
of ncyt, a statewide organization of young, non-profit professionals,
and as Immediate Past President of NCAVA, the North Carolina
Association of Volunteer Administrators. A graduate of Guilford
College, where she sits on the Alumni Board, Amy received
her CAVNC (Certified Administrator of Volunteers in North
Carolina) credential from NCAVA in 2001 and graduated from
Duke University‘s Certificate Program in Nonprofit
Management in 2003.
