HandsOn NWNC organizes, promotes and creates learning opportunities for nonprofit staff as a crucial pathway to building nonprofit capacity. We also build relationships with local nonprofits, institutions of higher education, and nonprofit consulting experts to bring even greater workshop opportunities to our nonprofits. Local offerings are promoted through The Nonprofit Connection as well as on our website. We also facilitate mentoring and peer-to-peer opportunities through convening of local nonprofit leaders.

NEW! HandsOn NWNC Organizational Assessment Program! Thanksto the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, we're offering an Organizational Assessment Program to help nonprofits evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of their infrastructure, including strategy/planning, outreach/marketing/communications, programming, financial management, fund development, operations/facility, governance/board development, and human resources. The assessment, modeled on a similar program that's been highly successful in the western part of our state, provides a "snapshot" of the oorganization, allowing staff and board members to collectively look at management and governance practices. The ultimate goal is for each assessment to be followed with capacity building in key areas that will strengthen the organization's infrastructure and service to the community. HandsOn NWNC will select a qualified consultant specializing in nonprofit capacity improvement and strategic planning to conduct the assessment, which will be offered at a minimal cost to your organization. We hope to pilot this program with five different organizations this year. More details can be found in the program description. Applications will be accepted October 1st through April 1st, or until all five slots are filled.
